ZERO GRAVITY BRAKES
Zero Gravity's patented cam system creates a dynamic mechanical advantage, providing extreme power without compromising caliper arm travel. Prior to the Zero Gravity Power-Cam, it was accepted that an increase in leverage for a braking system would come at the expense of added mass and reduced travel of the caliper arms. The mechanical advantage of the Power-Cam increases as travel rate diminishes. On initial pull, Zero G brakes provide a high rate of travel at a reduced mechanical advantage to rapidly close the gap between the pads and the rim. As the brake lever is pulled further and contact is made with the rim, the cam begins to trade high rate of travel for high mechanical advantage. This allows for powerful, precision braking and avoids a dead spot; a condition experienced by other braking systems in which flex in the system prevents a portion of the pull from continuing to feed power.
